George studied at Oxford University and graduated with an MA in Biological Sciences. During his studies at Oxford he developed severe digestive illness. After experiencing no benefit from conventional approaches for this illness, he trained in traditional Chinese medicine at universities and colleges in the U.K., China and Australia, developing a special interest in food and traditional diet for health, and a deep appreciation for the value of traditional healthcare.
He now lives in Somerset and runs a busy clinic in Bristol offering acupuncture, herbs and nutritional advice. He has also taught regularly at the University of Bristol Medical School, the City of Bristol College and the College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Jamie, Dip ION FdSc mBANT NTC was an immense help in the writing of Be Your Own Nutritionist. He contributed a number of recipes and gave invaluable nutritional and editorial insight. Jamie is a graduate of the renowned Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London and a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist. Jamie advises on a broad spectrum of health issues and how food can be used to improve overall well-being. He is highly experienced on the subjects of weight loss, body composition, sports nutrition and hormonal health. He runs a successful private practice and works with GP’s, personal trainers and physiotherapists in Bristol and the surrounding area. He has an extensive knowledge of the nutritional aspects of all matters relating to health and well-being.
